Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Remenkhemi mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") handles information.
What the App stores on your device
To make the App work — to remember your progress and settings between sessions — the App saves the following locally on your device only, inside the App's private storage (an on-device SQLite database). None of it is sent to us or to anyone else:
- Learning progress: which lessons and skills you have completed, crowns/levels, and completion timestamps.
- Activity records: a log of completed lessons (experience points earned, number correct, and when), used to show your stats and streaks.
- Review data: per-word memory strength used to schedule practice (spaced repetition).
- Achievements: which badges you have unlocked and when.
- Settings: your preferences, such as transliteration display mode and interface language (English or Arabic).
- A local installation identifier: a random identifier generated on your device the first time you open the App. It is stored only on your device and is not transmitted anywhere. It is not linked to your identity, and it is not an advertising identifier. Its only purpose is to make a future optional cloud-backup feature work smoothly if we ever add one (see "Changes to this policy"). One exception you control: if you choose to email us feedback from the App, the pre-filled draft includes this identifier (plus your app version and platform) so we can troubleshoot your report — you can delete it from the email before sending.
Because this data lives only on your device, we never see it. We have no server that receives it and no ability to access it.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect, and the App does not transmit, any of the following (its only network activity is the update check described under "Third-party services"):
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact details.
- Your location.
- Your device's advertising identifier, or any cross-app or cross-site tracking identifiers.
- Analytics or usage telemetry.
- Crash or diagnostic reports.
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data (the App does not request access to these).
The App requires no account and asks for no personal information to function.
Third-party services
The App uses no analytics providers, advertising networks, crash-reporting tools, or trackers of any kind.
The App uses one third-party service: EAS Update, operated by Expo (650 Industries, Inc.), to deliver bug fixes and content corrections without requiring a full app-store update. When the App launches, it may check Expo's servers for such an update over an encrypted connection. That request contains only technical, non-personal information — the app's version and runtime details, update channel, platform, and a randomly generated update-delivery identifier that is not linked to your identity or your learning data — plus the standard network metadata (such as an IP address) inherent to any internet request. None of your learning data, settings, or the installation identifier described above is included. Expo's handling of these requests is governed by Expo's privacy policy. If your device is offline, the App simply skips the check and works normally.
Note that if you install the App through the Apple App Store or Google Play, those stores collect their own information (for example, download and purchase records) under their privacy policies, which are outside our control. See Apple's and Google's privacy policies for details.
Children's privacy
The App is a language-learning tool suitable for a general audience, including younger learners. Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, it collects no personal information from children. We do not knowingly gather data from children (or anyone) — there is simply no data collection to speak of. If we ever change this, we will update this policy and, where required, add appropriate age gating and parental-consent mechanisms before doing so.
How to delete your data
Because all data is stored locally, you are always in full control:
- To erase all learning progress and settings, delete/uninstall the App from your device. This removes the App's local database and everything in it.
Data security
Your data is stored within the App's private, sandboxed storage area provided by your device's operating system, protected by the standard security of iOS/Android. Your learning data is never transmitted off the device, so there is no personal data "in transit" to intercept; the App's update checks (see "Third-party services") travel over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and carry no personal data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. In particular, features are planned for future versions that would change how data is handled — for example:
- Optional cloud backup / cross-device sync of your progress.
- Crash reporting to help us fix bugs.
- Advertising and/or optional paid upgrades.
We will not enable any of these without first updating this Privacy Policy to describe exactly what is collected and why, updating the App Store / Google Play data-disclosure forms accordingly, and — where the law requires it — asking for your consent. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App.
